Toronto authorities are seeking help from the community to identify a man accused of sexually assaulting a young individual on a TTC bus in the city’s east end recently.
The incident took place last week, prompting a response from officers at around 4:05 p.m. on July 16 in the Victoria Park Avenue and Danforth Avenue vicinity after receiving reports of a sexual assault involving a juvenile passenger.
According to investigators, the youth entered a TTC bus at Victoria Park Station and took a seat in the front row behind the driver. A man then boarded the bus and sat next to the victim. Allegedly, the suspect initiated a conversation with the youth before committing the assault.
The man disembarked the bus at Danforth Avenue and proceeded on foot.
Authorities have shared images of the suspect and are seeking the public’s aid in identifying him. The individual is described as male, around 5-foot-8 tall, and believed to be between 30 to 40 years old. He was last seen wearing a green polo shirt, dark grey sweatpants, and dark fisherman-style sandals.
The case is being treated as a sexual interference investigation by investigators. Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact the police.
