Montreal police have apprehended a suspect linked to a series of more than a dozen break-ins and thefts across various neighborhoods in the city.
According to the SPVM, the break-ins occurred over the nights spanning from July 3 to 20, spanning the boroughs of Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, Ahuntsic-Cartierville, Plateau-Mont-Royal, and Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie.
The perpetrator is believed to have gained entry into residences by forcefully opening patio doors or screen doors. Once inside, they reportedly made off with valuables such as cash, cell phones, jewelry, and bank cards before making a hasty escape.
Following a thorough investigation, authorities managed to identify and apprehend the suspect, 29-year-old Naby Bangoura.
Bangoura now faces a range of charges, which include breaking and entering, attempted breaking and entering, and theft.
