“Toronto Man, Alleged Hamas Associate, Charged With Terrorism Over 2024 Protest”

A 33-year-old Toronto man has been charged with terrorism for his alleged involvement in activities linked to Hamas during a 2024 demonstration.

According to Toronto police, the man is accused of attending two pro-Palestinian demonstrations in May and September 2024, where he reportedly used a loudspeaker to incite harm against Israeli and Jewish individuals.

After a search warrant was executed at his Toronto residence on March 7, 2025, several electronic devices were confiscated. Following an investigation involving the Toronto Police Service Hate Crime Unit and the RCMP, evidence was uncovered implicating the man in connections with Hamas.

On July 21, 2026, Ahmad Hassan Hajahmad was arrested and charged with participating in or supporting the operations of a terrorist organization. Details of the investigation remain confidential due to a publication ban.

Toronto Police Chief Myron Demkiw emphasized the ongoing nature of investigations into criminal activities at demonstrations, highlighting the importance of a robust Counter Terrorism Security Unit to address evolving threats to public safety and ensure accountability for lawbreakers.
