Passengers awaiting their ferries were swiftly guided to secure areas as updates about the incident were broadcasted.

BC Ferries confirmed that firefighters arrived swiftly to douse the fire, averting any injuries in the process.

The fire incident caused delays in ferry schedules, with the 5 p.m. departure running around 35 minutes late, impacting subsequent evening sailings as well.

After the fire was extinguished, emergency crews worked to clear debris at the scene, with police aiding in the removal of the charred vehicle.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
