According to Bannon, outfielder Brett Bateman and infielder Ty Southisene will be heading back to Toronto as part of the deal. Southisene was ranked as the Cubs’ No. 13 prospect, while Bateman held the No. 21 spot on the MLB Pipeline list.
Gausman has been a cornerstone of the Blue Jays organization for over four seasons, showcasing both on-field prowess and unwavering consistency off the field. With accomplishments including All-Star appearances, Cy Young votes, and a solid 3.79 ERA in postseason play, Gausman’s departure marks the end of an era for the Blue Jays.
