Residents in Quebec City felt a rumble on Sunday evening as Earthquakes Canada confirmed a magnitude 2.8 earthquake in the region. The quake, which struck at 8:33 p.m., originated 12 km west-southwest of Quebec City at a depth of 22.7 km.

Many individuals took to social media to share their experiences, likening the tremor to a sudden clap of thunder or the rumble of a passing heavy vehicle. Fortunately, no damages have been reported following the minor earthquake, a common occurrence for quakes of this size.
