The Montreal Canadiens make a bold move by signing defenseman Maksymilian Szuber to a versatile contract for the upcoming season.
Hailing from Opole, Poland, Szuber showcased his skills last season with an impressive record of 11 goals and 16 assists while playing for the Tucson Roadrunners in the American Hockey League.
Standing tall at six-foot-three and weighing 215 pounds, Szuber not only led his team in goals as a defenseman but also secured the third spot in total points.
Montreal secured his talent after trading winger Joshua Roy to the Utah Mammoth earlier this summer, giving them the opportunity to add Szuber to their roster.
Although he only appeared in one game with the Arizona Coyotes in the 2023-24 season, Szuber’s contributions have not gone unnoticed. The 23-year-old played a crucial role in Munich’s victory in the German league in 2023 and helped Germany clinch a silver medal at the 2023 world championship.
Having been drafted by the Coyotes in the sixth round as the 163rd overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, Szuber’s journey to the NHL continues with this new chapter in Montreal.
