In the early hours of Wednesday morning, a tragic incident unfolded in Laval when a vehicle crashed into a commercial building, resulting in the deaths of two 19-year-olds and leaving another person critically injured.
According to Laval police, the incident began when officers noticed a vehicle without a license plate around 1:20 a.m. While they attempted to stop the vehicle, it accelerated away without a pursuit being initiated.
Shortly after, the vehicle collided with the Atlantis gym on Laurentides Boulevard. Tragically, the driver and one passenger lost their lives at the scene, while a second passenger was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
As investigations continued, Laurentides Boulevard remained closed between Saint-Martin Boulevard and Richard Street. Police created a security perimeter to facilitate the work of collision investigators in understanding the circumstances of the crash.
