Vancouver Police Investigate Assault on Elderly Man in Kitsilano Neighborhood
The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) is currently looking into an incident where a 73-year-old man was reportedly attacked by a stranger at the end of last month. The assault, which occurred in Kitsilano, prompted a response from officers on July 31.
According to the VPD, the suspect was allegedly shouting at people passing by when the victim intervened and requested him to cease his behavior and move on. This interaction escalated into a verbal confrontation, culminating in the suspect pushing the elderly man to the ground.
As a consequence of the assault, the senior sustained head injuries that required medical attention.
Described as having a medium build and clad in grey shorts and white shoes with no shirt, the suspect remains at large. Police have issued an image of the individual and are urging anyone with information to contact investigators at 604-717-3321.
