The race for leadership of the Ontario Liberal Party is heating up as five contenders gear up for their first debate scheduled for Monday evening.
The online voting to select the new party leader will kick off on Nov. 9 and conclude on Nov. 20, with the final winner set to be announced on Nov. 21.

Navdeep Bains, transitioning from federal to provincial politics, is among those vying for the Ontario Liberal Party’s top spot.

Stephanie Bowman, the Deputy House Leader and Finance Critic, steps into the leadership race after a lengthy career in finance and public service. She emphasizes the need for responsible leadership and a government that prioritizes its citizens.
Lee Fairclough, the Liberal MPP for Etobicoke-Lakeshore, aims to leverage her healthcare background to rebuild public trust and enhance access to care statewide.
Eric Lombardi, a housing advocate, is charting a new course in politics with a strong focus on housing reform and economic revitalization. His platform includes initiatives aimed at improving homeownership opportunities and economic prospects for Ontarians.
Dylan Marando, with a background in political staffing, is positioning himself as a contender for the Ontario Liberal leadership. He highlights his hands-on experience in policy reforms and his determination to revitalize the party’s presence in Queen’s Park.
