The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) says it is investigating after the driver of a blue sedan struck a pedestrian and drove away.
Police say a 23-year-old woman was crossing the street near Davie Street and Pacific Boulevard Friday evening around 9:30 p.m. when she was hit.
The car did not stay at the scene and was seen driving eastbound on Pacific Boulevard.
The woman was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The VPD is turning to the public for help in its investigation.
“We believe there are several witnesses in the area who might have seen what happened,” said Const. Darren Wong.
“We are asking them or anyone with dashcam footage from the area to contact police.”
Failing to stay at the scene of a crash involving a person or another vehicle is a criminal offence in Canada.
