Authorities have recently arrested two individuals in connection with the tragic shooting that claimed the life of a 22-year-old man in Montreal’s Plateau-Mont-Royal last week.
Véronique Giroux, aged 36, and a 17-year-old male are now facing serious charges of first-degree murder in relation to the killing of Jean-Christophe Desrosiers on August 20.
Desrosiers was discovered with gunshot injuries in the vicinity of Henri-Julien and Du Carmel avenues at approximately 11:45 a.m. He was swiftly taken to the hospital but, unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries.
According to Montreal police, evidence such as shell casings and bullet holes were located at the crime scene, shedding light on the violent nature of the incident.
The tragic demise of Desrosiers marks the 17th homicide in Montreal this year, underscoring the ongoing challenge of violent crime in the city.
