Toronto’s FIFA Beaver Auction Ends with Canadian-Themed Statue Fetching Top Dollar!

The auction for the FIFA World Cup-themed beaver statues in Toronto’s eastern downtown area has ended, with over $170,000 in total bids.

Fifty colorful beaver installations were part of a unique scavenger hunt organized by the Old Town Toronto Business Improvement Area from May 25 to Aug. 16.

Among the highest bids was $10,025 for a hand-painted beaver adorned with Canadian motifs like fall-colored maple leaves. Following closely was a Scottish-themed beaver with a bid of over $7,500. Not far behind was the Spanish-themed beaver, representing the World Cup champions, which sold for $3,200.

The auction proceeds will be split evenly between two charitable organizations, Toronto’s First Post Office and KidSport Ontario, as confirmed by the Old Town Toronto Business Improvement Area.
