According to a statement from a city spokesperson to CityNews, the engineering report was mandated under the September 3 Order to Remedy Unsafe Building, which stipulates that the property owner must engage a professional engineer to evaluate the extent of the damage, propose necessary actions for remediation, and oversee the completion of the repairs. The city issued an unsafe building order following severe thunderstorms that caused significant damage to the temporary stadium, resulting in the collapse of sections of the north grandstands.
