Excitement Builds as A-List Stars Descend on Toronto for Film Festival
The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is gearing up for its 51st edition with a star-studded lineup that includes Penélope Cruz, Michelle Yeoh, and John Malkovich.
TIFF revealed its roster of over 800 anticipated guests just a day before the festival’s launch. Penélope Cruz will grace the event with her presence in the films “Bunker” and “La Bola Negra,” and will also be honored with a Tribute Award during a TIFF charity event. Michelle Yeoh takes the spotlight in the film “The Surgeon,” while John Malkovich shines in Martin McDonagh’s dark comedy “Wild Horse Nine,” sharing the screen with Sam Rockwell and Steve Buscemi.
Homegrown talent Seth Rogen will be in attendance, starring in his wife Lauren Miller Rogen’s film “Babies.” Also making appearances are Alex Lifeson and Geddy Lee of Rush for the documentary “Neil Peart: No One’s Disciple.” Other notable names include Sebastian Stan, Cynthia Erivo, Jesse Eisenberg, Fan Bingbing, and the Mara sisters.
However, one notable absence is Mark Ruffalo, who stars in the opening night film “Being Heumann” and has been embroiled in a dispute with Paramount following recent criticisms of its merger with Warner Bros.
As the festival kicks off, anticipation is high for the cinematic gems and star power that will light up the screens and red carpets of TIFF.
