Storm Ravages Rogers Stadium: AC/DC Concert Axed in Aftermath

The AC/DC concert slated for Rogers Stadium on Sept. 16 has been called off due to significant damage caused by a recent storm.

Rogers Stadium officials have confirmed that all original ticket holders will receive full refunds through Ticketmaster automatically. For fans who bought resale tickets, instructions for refunds can be obtained by contacting their point of purchase, as stated in the official announcement.

Following major thunderstorms that battered the area, a safety order was imposed on the venue due to structural damage, particularly affecting the north grandstands which collapsed.

Situated in Downsview Park, the 50,000-capacity open-air stadium faced the brunt of the storm, as described by local residents who witnessed its destructive impact firsthand. One resident shared with 680 NewsRadio, “It was very powerful, it was violent is what it was.”

CityNews captured drone footage revealing the aftermath of the storm, showing twisted metal and scattered debris left in its wake.
