The Richmond RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an assault that occurred earlier this summer.
According to authorities, a woman was walking along Greenland Drive near No. 5 Road at approximately 7:30 p.m. on June 28 when she was approached by an unidentified man riding a bicycle. The woman was subjected to an assault before the suspect quickly fled the scene.
Described as being between 30 to 40 years old, the suspect has a medium build, black hair, and a black moustache. During the incident, he was wearing sunglasses, a green T-shirt, and grey shorts.
Individuals who were in the vicinity between 7:15 and 7:45 p.m. and may have witnessed a cyclist matching the suspect’s description are urged to contact the Richmond RCMP at 604-278-1212, citing file number 2026-20373. In addition, law enforcement is actively seeking any dashcam or residential security camera footage from the area.
Cpl. Melissa Lui emphasized the importance of community cooperation, stating, “We encourage anyone who noticed anything out of the ordinary in the area or possesses relevant video footage to come forward and assist our investigators. Even the smallest piece of information could be pivotal in moving this investigation forward.”
