Emergency responders swiftly took two individuals to the hospital on Monday morning due to severe injuries sustained during a sudden apartment fire near the intersection of Jarvis Street and Dundas Street.
Upon receiving the distress call around 7:17 a.m., fire crews hastened to the downtown Toronto building where they discovered smoke billowing from a unit. Efforts were made to evacuate residents as firefighters promptly tackled the two-alarm fire raging within the apartment.
Paramedics confirmed that two adults were conveyed to the hospital with serious injuries, though thankfully their conditions were deemed non-life-threatening.
As emergency services mobilized to contain the situation, authorities closed off a section of Jarvis Street, spanning between Gerrard Street and Dundas Street, while firefighters diligently worked to suppress the blaze and investigators commenced evaluating the extent of the damage.
