Vancouver Fire Rescue Services (VFRS) has exciting news as they are set to enhance their fleet with the addition of five brand-new fire vehicles. What’s even more impressive is that all these vehicles will be manufactured right here in Ontario.
Dependable Emergency Vehicles has been chosen by VFRS to provide these new apparatus, with the department emphasizing the importance of supporting the Canadian industry throughout the procurement process.
Amidst ongoing trade tensions, VFRS highlighted the significance of keeping the production of these vehicles within Canada. The department expressed pride in utilizing Canadian steel, labor, and expertise to build the trucks that safeguard local communities.
Factors such as cost-effectiveness, quality, delivery schedules, operational needs, long-term benefits, and service assistance were all taken into account before finalizing the decision.
While VFRS has not disclosed a specific timeline for when the new vehicles will be put into operation, the anticipation is high for these additions to bolster the firefighting capabilities of the city.
