York Regional Police have recently uncovered a second shooting incident tied to a violent night outside a venue in Vaughan last summer. Authorities are now seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect captured on video fleeing the scene.
The incident occurred in the early hours of July 5 near a club close to Steeles Avenue and Scholes Road, just east of Islington Avenue. Two male suspects engaged with security and opened fire, injuring an adult male patron. The victim was taken to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while the suspects remain at large.
Through a thorough investigation spanning several months, detectives discovered another shooting incident in the same plaza shortly after the initial altercation. A male suspect fired multiple shots from a dark-colored BMW SUV as it moved through the parking lot, fortunately without causing any injuries.
Authorities are now focused on identifying the suspect involved in the second shooting. Described as a Black male, aged between 25-35, with a heavy build, the individual was last seen wearing a black T-shirt with front writing, blue knee-length jean shorts, a black baseball hat, white sneakers, and carrying a black cross-body bag.
York Regional Police are urging anyone who may have information, particularly surveillance or dashcam footage around the time of the incidents, to come forward and assist investigators in solving the case.
