Downtown Toronto streets will experience temporary closures on Thursday morning as hundreds of police officers participate in the annual National Peace Officer’s Memorial Run, paying tribute to fallen officers.
The event commences with an opening ceremony at 8 a.m. at the Ontario Police Memorial near Queen’s Park. Following this, participants embark on a 5 km run through the city to commemorate officers who lost their lives while serving.
In memory of seven officers who passed away in the last year, the organizers are dedicated to honoring their sacrifice.
Expect various road closures throughout the city this morning as the event unfolds.
