An early morning incident in Pickering sent a pedestrian to the hospital after being struck by a transport truck, as reported by local authorities.
Responding to the emergency call, rescue teams rushed to the Glen Grove vicinity, close to Bayly Street and Krosno Boulevard, shortly before 3 a.m.
According to police statements, a woman was standing in the middle of the road when a transport truck veered to avoid her but unfortunately ended up colliding with her.
The injured woman was promptly taken to a nearby medical facility with severe injuries, although they are deemed non-life-threatening.
Authorities confirmed that the truck driver stayed at the scene following the accident, and no charges were pressed.
