Two individuals were wounded in a shooting incident that occurred during an alleged murder attempt in the Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles area of Montreal on Thursday evening.
The Montreal Police, known as SPVM, responded to the incident near the intersection of Jacques-Rousseau Street and Nicolas-Joly Ave. at approximately 7:40 p.m.
According to police reports, an assailant fired multiple shots at the two victims.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered the injured parties. The male victim, aged 18, sustained gunshot wounds to the lower body, while the female victim, aged 23, was shot in the upper body.
Both individuals were taken to a hospital for treatment of their non-life-threatening injuries as confirmed by authorities.
The perpetrator escaped the scene in a vehicle, heading in an unspecified direction.
In efforts to apprehend the suspect, a K-9 unit was dispatched to assist in the search. The investigation into the incident is currently underway.
