Stelco Holdings Inc. to Temporarily Halt Operations at Hamilton Works Facility
Stelco Holdings Inc. has announced a temporary suspension of operations at its Hamilton Works facility due to market uncertainty. The decision, affecting 500 employees, comes as a response to ongoing challenges faced by the company.
Expressing the severity of the situation, a Stelco spokesperson stated, “In light of persistent market uncertainties and sustained business setbacks primarily driven by steel imports into Canada, we have had to make this tough call impacting up to 500 dedicated Stelco employees.”
The company remains open to reassessing the operational status in the event of improved circumstances.
