A tragic incident unfolded on Tuesday afternoon in Laval’s Chomedey area as a 77-year-old woman was discovered deceased at a residence.
Laval police responded to a distress call at an apartment complex on Jean-Béraud Street at approximately 12:30 p.m. after receiving reports of two individuals sustaining injuries.
Tragically, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her partner, a 78-year-old man, was also found injured and subsequently transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities have classified the woman’s passing as suspicious, and they anticipate interviewing the man once his health permits.
The Crimes Against the Person unit of the Laval police is actively investigating to establish the sequence of events leading up to the tragedy.
Upon their arrival, officers confirmed that no other individuals were present at the property, and at this time, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
