Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks is set to appear in court on Oct. 28 for a DUI charge following his March arrest in Scottsdale, Arizona. The team’s senior vice president of communications, Stacey Mitch, confirmed the incident and stated that they have addressed the matter with Brooks.
Brooks, a resident of Mississauga, Ont., was arrested during a traffic stop in the early hours of March 6 and was taken into custody after an investigation. Despite being out with a fractured hand at the time, Brooks had a standout season last year, averaging 20.2 points per game and securing a lucrative contract extension.
In addition to the DUI charge, Brooks is also facing separate reckless driving and speeding charges from a January arrest, with a court date scheduled for Nov. 9.
