Montreal and Quebec City are set to co-host the upcoming women’s volleyball World Cup which will mark its debut in North America in the following year. These two Canadian cities are part of the lineup alongside Orlando, Florida; Anaheim, California; and Omaha, Nebraska to host the tournament featuring 32 countries from August 5 to September 5, 2027.
This event holds significant weight as it not only determines the world champion but also serves as an Olympic qualifier for 2027. The top three countries that have not secured spots for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics will earn their tickets through this competition.
Canada’s women’s team secured their Olympic berth by triumphing in a regional NORCECA tournament held in the Dominican Republic in August. The upcoming World Cup will be crucial for the team as they prepare to compete in Olympic indoor women’s volleyball in Los Angeles for the first time since 1996.
Montreal’s Bell Centre and Quebec City’s Videotron Centre will host the Round of 16 and pool phase matches from August 20 to 28, along with Omaha and Orlando. The quarterfinals, semifinals, and final matches will take place in Anaheim, where Italy will be defending its champion title.
