As the provincial election in Quebec draws near, political parties are giving their final appeals to voters. Various significant topics, including Indigenous issues, immigration, and Quebec’s ties to the monarchy, took center stage on the campaign trail this Wednesday.
In light of Canada’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, multiple parties announced initiatives to enhance relationships with First Nations and Inuit communities.
Parti Québécois Leader, Paul St-Pierre Plamondon, stood firm on his proposition to eliminate the role of lieutenant-governor, while his opponents shared their perspectives on this proposal.
Quebecers are set to cast their votes on October 5th.
