Tragic Highway Disaster in B.C. Claims Two Lives

Two individuals tragically lost their lives in a car collision near Chase, as confirmed by the RCMP.

On the afternoon of October 1st, BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) responded to a collision involving a Mercedes SUV and a Honda Civic on Highway 1 in the 5300 block, just west of Chase.

Following BCEHS’s arrival, Chase RCMP quickly arrived at the scene to assist.

Despite BCEHS’s efforts to save them, both occupants of the Honda Civic, identified as a 47-year-old woman and her 11-year-old son from Kamloops, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Mercedes SUV sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Cpl. Brett Urano, the RCMP spokesperson, expressed condolences to the affected families, emphasizing the tragic nature of the loss of life in such incidents.

As the investigation is still in its early stages, authorities are urging any witnesses or individuals with relevant dash camera footage to come forward to assist in determining the details of the collision.
