The Surrey Police Service (SPS) has reported a concerning series of incidents where a residence in the Guildford neighborhood was targeted by gunfire on three separate occasions this month.
According to authorities, the shootings occurred on Dec. 7, 27, and 28 near 140A Street, with each incident happening in the early hours between 3:05 a.m. and 8:21 a.m.
While investigating the matter, law enforcement has determined that the shootings are unrelated to gang conflicts or extortions prevalent in the region this year. Instead, they suspect that a specific resident in the targeted building is the intended victim.
The RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU) has taken charge of the investigation and revealed that the shots were fired from a moving vehicle, resulting in damage to different parts of the residence. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, and there have been no arrests made so far.
Authorities are urging the community to come forward with any dash-cam or security footage that could aid in the investigation. Those with relevant information can contact the SPS at 604-599-0502.
