“BC Sizzles: Over 13 New Heat Records Shatter Daily Norms!”

Exceptionally warm temperatures swept across British Columbia on Tuesday, setting new records in various regions. According to Environment and Climate Change Canada, 13 areas in B.C. experienced record-high temperatures for January 14.

In Vancouver, the mercury soared to 13.8 degrees, shattering the previous 12-year record of 12.1 degrees. Similarly, Richmond also basked in unusual warmth not seen since 2014 on Jan. 14.

The day saw some of the oldest temperature records being broken, with Terrace and Dawson Creek surpassing the 1933 benchmark of 6.7 degrees, recording 9.6 and 7.9 degrees, respectively.

The list of areas where record-setting temperatures were observed in degrees Celsius includes Bella Bella, Burns Lake, Chetwynd, Dawson Creek, Dease Lake, Gibsons, Kitimat, Powell River, Richmond, Sandspit, Sechelt, Terrace, and Vancouver.
