Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying two people suspected of assaulting a child at a festival in Surrey last month.
The Surrey Police Service (SPS) says officers responded to a report of an assault outside a Gurdwara on 85 Avenue near 128 Street on the afternoon of Sunday, April 19, amid Khalsa Day celebrations.
An eight-year-old boy was inside a haunted house amusement in the parking lot, when police say, two men physically assaulted him.
The boy reportedly got away and was able to reach his family.
“The child suffered injuries to his neck, which required treatment at a hospital,” said Ian MacDonald with the SPS. “Gurdwara staff and the carnival operator are assisting us with the investigation.”
He confirms it was a stranger assault.
Investigators canvassed the area for witnesses and surveillance images, which they have shared, hoping the public can help identify the pair.
“Police are asking others who attended the area and have photos or video of the interior or exterior of the ‘Kreepy Kastle’ between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. on April 19, 2026, to contact police.”
If you have information to share, you’re asked to call the SPS non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 26-37221 (SP), or you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
