“Fraud Fugitive on the Run: Sought by Six Ontario Police Services in Expanding Manhunt”

Durham authorities are on the hunt for a man accused of defrauding a 78-year-old victim out of more than $33,000. This individual, Christopher Alexander Graham, 40, hailing from Clarington, allegedly developed a friendship with the victim over the span of a month. Promising landscaping and repair services, Graham received payment but failed to deliver on his commitments, according to police reports. It is suspected that Graham targets vulnerable individuals, particularly seniors, through various fraudulent schemes. Investigators believe there may be more victims yet to come forward.

Graham is facing charges including fraud over $5,000, possessing property obtained through crime, breaching prohibition orders, and failing to comply with legal undertakings. Despite being prohibited from accepting payment for unfinished work at the time of the incident, Graham’s alleged misdeeds extend beyond Durham, with warrants issued by five other police services in Ontario for similar fraud-related offenses.

While these accusations remain unproven in court, authorities are urging anyone with information or who may have fallen victim to similar schemes to come forward.
