Fashion mogul Peter Nygard has been found guilty of sexual assault and forcible confinement by a Court of Quebec judge in Montreal. The 84-year-old, known for founding Nygard International, a once-prominent women’s apparel company, decided to accept a plea deal instead of presenting evidence in his defense.
The charges against Nygard in Quebec stem from an incident that occurred at his Montreal penthouse between November 1997 and November 1998. This case is distinct from his previous conviction in Toronto on four counts of sexual assault in 2023, resulting in an 11-year prison sentence.
