Weather Woes Shift Toronto’s Caribbean Carnival Junior Parade to Tomorrow

Due to inclement weather predictions, the Toronto Caribbean Carnival Junior Carnival Parade has been rescheduled to Sunday, July 19, instead of Saturday as originally planned. CityNews meteorologist Natasha Ramsahai warns of potential severe storms with heavy rain and strong winds expected on Saturday in the GTA. Additionally, smoke from wildfires up north will impact the region until Sunday afternoon when a cold front will clear the air.

Organizers emphasized that the safety and comfort of participants, families, volunteers, spectators, and event staff are top priorities in making this decision. Despite the date change, all event activities will proceed as scheduled on Sunday, with only minor adjustments to accommodate the new timing.

The Junior Carnival Parade is a vibrant celebration where young masqueraders display the colorful traditions of Caribbean Carnival through handmade costumes, dancing to the beats of Soca, Calypso, and Steelpan music.
