In a swift turn of events, a notorious high-risk offender known for his repeated run-ins with the law found himself back in police custody mere hours after his release. Guelph authorities apprehended a 37-year-old man on Friday afternoon for violating his release conditions.
Identified as Medhani Yohans, the individual in question has garnered a reputation as a high-risk offender with a specific threat to women, according to a spokesperson from the Guelph Police Service. Yohans’ troubling past includes instances of violence, including sexual assaults on strangers.
Coincidentally, Yohans’ latest arrest unfolded on the same day he was discharged from the Maplehurst Correctional Complex in Milton. Despite being under various probation orders, which prohibited him from setting foot in downtown Guelph, he was spotted in the area and promptly arrested.
The apprehended individual now faces nine charges of breaching probation and is being held in custody until his scheduled court appearance on Friday.
