Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Borough to Enhance Local Businesses with $173,000 Investment
In a move to rejuvenate its commercial hubs, the borough of Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grâce has unveiled a significant investment of $173,000. This funding, part of the City of Montreal’s economic vitality program, will target businesses situated on streets not currently supported by neighborhood business development organizations.
The aim of these revitalization efforts, as highlighted in a recent press release by the borough, is to stimulate pedestrian traffic, elevate the attractiveness of commercial districts, and provide crucial support to business owners amid a shifting economic landscape.
Among the diverse projects set to benefit from this financial boost are the pedestrianization of Monkland Avenue with an allocated $80,000, a branding campaign slated for Sherbrooke Street West, a $23,000 assistance package for merchants operating in the Victoria/Van Horne area, and a $10,000 initiative focused on enhancing the visual appeal of vacant commercial storefronts.
Mayor Stephanie Valenzuela of Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grâce emphasized the importance of tailoring these initiatives to the specific needs of local neighborhoods, affirming their role in fostering a resilient and thriving local economy.
