A Toronto man, Muhammad Yasin, 26, was arrested in connection with an alleged assault that occurred in the vibrant Little India neighborhood last week. The incident unfolded in the Coxwell Avenue and Gerrard Street East area around 10 p.m. on Aug. 7, prompting a swift response from law enforcement.
According to reports, a heated verbal exchange between the victim and the suspect escalated into physical violence, resulting in the victim being assaulted. Notably, the suspect and victim are acquainted with each other, adding a layer of complexity to the situation.
Yasin now faces serious charges, including two counts of assault, assault-choking, and two counts of fail to comply with a release order. Following his arrest on Aug. 8, he was slated to make a court appearance on Monday to address the allegations brought against him.
