Quebec Premier Christine Fréchette is meeting with business leaders in Montreal Friday as the province’s agriculture and food industries prepare for looming 50 per cent tariffs from the United States.
It’s the second day of Fréchette’s emergency meetings with some of Quebec’s biggest business leaders.
On Friday, the premier is focusing mainly on leaders in the food industry as businesses assess the potential impact of the tariffs, which are set to take effect Aug. 19.
The meetings are aimed at hearing directly from industry leaders as Quebec prepares for the potential economic fallout from the new U.S. trade measures.
