Soccer Fans Can Own a Piece of the Iconic Science World Dome from the 2026 FIFA World Cup
While the 2026 FIFA World Cup has come to a close, fans can still relive the excitement by bringing home a unique souvenir from a notable feature of the games.
Science World has announced the sale of merchandise crafted from original pieces of the panels that transformed its famous dome into a massive soccer ball.
According to a recent news release, the 131 specially designed panels that turned Science World into a 40-meter recreation of the adidas Trionda official match ball have started to be dismantled.
The Beautiful Dome 2026 Collection offers various items such as stylish patio umbrellas, practical duffle bags, and trendy shopping totes, all incorporating segments of the distinctive design.
Each piece in the collection is one-of-a-kind, showcasing a specific part of the original transformation.
The initiative to convert the dome into a soccer ball began in May, with Destination Vancouver president Royce Chwin emphasizing the goal of creating a globally recognizable symbol linking Vancouver to the FIFA World Cup while highlighting the city’s innovation and aspirations.
Available for purchase are items ranging from $50 for a shopping tote to $800 for a patio umbrella. Enthusiasts can even acquire an entire panel for $1,000. All proceeds from the merchandise sales will support Science World’s STEAM education programs.
The exclusive collection was officially launched on Friday, offering soccer aficionados the chance to own a tangible memento of the remarkable dome transformation.
