Last weekend in Brampton, a 27-year-old man found himself in hot water after a string of attempted carjackings and a stabbing incident. Peel Region authorities reported that the suspect first tried to steal a car with its owner still inside near Clockwork Drive and Creditview Road late in the evening on Sept. 6.
In a shocking turn of events, the owner was stabbed by the assailant before the suspect fled the scene on foot. Fortunately, the victim received medical treatment for their non-life-threatening injuries at a local trauma center.
Following this alarming event, the suspect proceeded to a nearby residence where he forcefully entered, demanding the residents hand over their car keys. When his attempts failed, he fled the house and tried to carjack two more vehicles in the vicinity, but was unsuccessful on both occasions. Miraculously, none of the victims in these subsequent incidents sustained any physical harm.
On the following day, September 7, investigators were able to track down and apprehend the suspect at a residence in Brampton. Lovepreet Mann now faces three counts of robbery, aggravated assault, charges related to possessing a dangerous weapon, and uttering threats.
