A disagreement in a Mississauga parking lot turned into a frightening incident last month, resulting in injuries for a woman and legal repercussions for a man involved in the altercation. The dispute began when Sunita Deoja and her friend Andrew Aps were dropping off clothing at a donation bin in a plaza parking lot late at night on August 30. They were accused by a woman driving an F-150 pickup truck of theft instead of donation. Despite trying to explain, the situation escalated as the woman filmed Deoja and suddenly drove off, dragging and injuring her. Aps, witnessing the incident, pursued the truck to prevent the driver from fleeing. However, he was subsequently arrested and charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
Deoja, who sustained injuries and was left frustrated by the turn of events, expressed disappointment at the lack of police communication regarding the incident. While Aps maintains his actions were necessary to protect his friend, the legal consequences have left both him and Deoja in a difficult situation. They are now advocating for a reassessment of the case, emphasizing the need for accountability and justice.
