A thrilling encounter between a diver and a white shark took place during a diving expedition in Percé, Gaspé, on a sunny Wednesday morning.
Following the incident, immediate care was provided to the diver before being swiftly taken to a hospital for further assessment, as announced by Plongée Percé on their Facebook page today.
Expressing gratitude, the scuba diving center praised the rapid and professional response of all involved teams. They also mentioned that, to uphold the individual’s privacy, no additional information will be disclosed.
As a safety measure, all diving activities in Percé have been put on hold for the remainder of the season.
According to the Canadian Shark Attack Registry, only 15 incidents have been confirmed in Canada over the past 330 years, out of the 30 reported attacks.
