“Saint-Michel Restaurant Targeted Again: Police Probe Second Arson Attack in a Month”

Montreal authorities are currently investigating a second suspicious fire incident at a restaurant located on Jean-Talon Street close to 22nd Avenue in the vibrant Villeray—Saint-Michel—Parc-Extension district.

In the early hours of the morning, the Montreal Police Service (SPVM) responded to a 911 call reporting a fire at the establishment in question. Fortunately, all residents residing in the building’s upper floors were swiftly confirmed to be safe.

Upon investigation, authorities discovered incendiary materials at the scene. Firefighters promptly arrived and successfully contained the blaze.

Thankfully, there were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.

The initial arson attempt occurred on August 30th, involving the smashing of the storefront’s glass door followed by an intentional fire being set at the entrance.

As of now, no individuals have been arrested in connection with these crimes, and the investigation is ongoing.
