Four firefighters from the Blainville fire department sustained injuries during a training session this past Saturday, as reported by the Blainville Firefighters Association.
The Association des pompiers de Blainville disclosed in a statement on social media that the mishap occurred when a section of a roof collapsed during the training exercise.
According to the association, all four firefighters were promptly attended to by emergency responders and subsequently taken for the required medical treatment. Fortunately, none of the injuries were deemed life-threatening.
To gain more insight into the circumstances surrounding the accident, both the province’s labor board CNESST and the Blainville police are slated to initiate an investigation.
The association has made it clear that they will not be sharing any further details regarding the incident or the extent of the injuries sustained by the firefighters.
