The Peel Regional Police Association (PRPA) made history by endorsing Alvin Tedjo as their first-ever mayoral candidate pick for Mississauga. Tedjo, who currently serves as the Ward 2 councillor, is vying for the mayoral seat against incumbent Carolyn Parrish and other contenders in the upcoming election.
With a background in communications strategy at Toronto Metropolitan University and Sheridan College, Tedjo has garnered support from the PRPA, representing over 3,800 members of Peel police. The association believes Tedjo’s proactive approach to public safety and crime prevention aligns with their values, as stated by PRPA President Adrian Woolley during a recent press conference.
The Mississauga mayoral race is shaping up to be competitive, with Parrish, former mayor Bonnie Crombie, Tedjo, and Dipika Damerla in the running. Crombie’s return to the race follows her tenure as Ontario Liberal leader, concluding after the 2025 provincial election.
Recent polling by Liaison Strategies indicates a close contest primarily between Parrish and Crombie, setting the stage for an exciting election season in Mississauga.
