Montreal authorities have apprehended a 23-year-old individual for suspected drug trafficking activities in the Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve neighborhood. The arrest came following a report from the public that prompted an investigation by the Montreal police.
According to the police, a drug trafficking network allegedly operated primarily within the Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve area, with a focus on vulnerable individuals frequenting the Notre-Dame encampment vicinity. During a search in the region, law enforcement officers discovered and confiscated a replica firearm, various narcotics such as cocaine and crack, and additional incriminating evidence.
The individual taken into custody, identified as Clément Christian Massé, was subsequently brought before the court and charged with possession of narcotics with intent to distribute and possession of a weapon for dangerous use.
Montreal law enforcement has indicated that further arrests related to the ongoing investigation are anticipated.
