Toronto authorities have apprehended and formally accused a man suspected of unlawfully entering multiple homes in the Weston neighborhood.
According to law enforcement, 34-year-old Austin MacDonald allegedly broke into a garage located near Jane and Church Streets on August 26, where he reportedly took off with two dirt bikes. Approximately a week later, MacDonald purportedly revisited the same location and entered a vehicle parked in the driveway.
On September 19, detectives claim MacDonald intruded into a residence within the vicinity while the occupants were present. The police stated that the accused pilfered personal belongings such as jewelry and bank cards. Subsequently, MacDonald allegedly targeted another location, broke into a vehicle, and absconded with personal possessions.
Reportedly, the accused proceeded to a store and engaged in numerous transactions and cash withdrawals utilizing a stolen bank card. Following these incidents, the authorities apprehended MacDonald later that day and seized various items deemed as evidence.
MacDonald faces five charges, which include two counts of break and enter, three counts of theft exceeding $5,000, two counts of possessing/using a credit card acquired through criminal means, and eight counts of violating probation terms.
The suspect was slated to make a court appearance in Toronto on September 23.
