A man in his 30s is in a critical condition following a collision on Route 116 East in Longueuil, Montérégie, on Sunday morning. The incident occurred at approximately 6:15 a.m. close to Highway 30, within the Saint-Hubert area.
According to Mélanie Mercille, the spokesperson for the Longueuil police (SPAL), the man’s situation is severe, with concerns for his life. Mercille also mentioned that at present, there is no indication of any criminal involvement in the collision.
SPAL officials are collaborating with accident reconstruction experts from the Sûreté du Québec to gain insight into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Following this incident, only one lane is open on Route 116 East leading towards Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville.
