Durham Police Seek Man Involved in Vehicle Fraud Scheme

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) investigators have uncovered a case where a man allegedly used fraudulent documents to obtain financing for three vehicles across dealerships in the Durham Region. The suspect, identified as Borislav Ninchov, 34, from Toronto, reportedly fled the country without making any payments for the vehicles. All three vehicles were later smuggled out of Canada.

Ninchov is currently wanted for multiple charges, including fraud over $5,000 and possession of property obtained through crime. The authorities suspect that Ninchov is part of a larger criminal tourism group that targets various regions in Canada.

Criminal tourism, as described by Durham police, is a growing concern that sees criminals entering Canada on tourist visas to commit a range of illegal activities before leaving the country or staying beyond their legal visa limits to avoid detection. These offenders are believed to be part of a sophisticated criminal network involved in fraud, theft, identity theft, and other organized crime activities.

If you have any information regarding this case or the whereabouts of Borislav Ninchov, please contact the Durham police immediately.
